Jennie Clark

Intaglio, Photo Based Processes

Printmaking... such an informative practice. I am drawn to the mechanics, the meditative process, the subtle beauty of paper, the viscosity and transparency of the ink and the potential of endless variation within imagery.

Jennie worked professionally as a graphic designer, art director and illustrator following graduation with honours from Ontario College of Art and Design. (1971) She expanded her knowledge of contemporary art graduating with honours from Georgian College Advanced Fine Art (2006), receiving awards for printmaking and sculpture. In 2016 she completed her BFA with a final course in Biology, which informs her current creative work. She is the originator of the Simcoe Watershed Art Project. (2010-17) Her imagery is inspired by natural phenomena, passage of time and memory.
